Sunroom Designs

Are you thinking of adding a sunroom onto your house? There is no better way to create space for less. A sunroom also provides a room where you can feel the positive influence of the sun and relax and rejuvenate yourself.

When looking into sunroom designs you will find that the possibilities are endless. Do you want a small or large sunroom? One that extends only a short way out from the front of your home or a larger one with a view that leads out into your backyard? Do you want to convert an existing porch, deck or patio into a sunroom? All of these factors will determine what type of sunroom designs you will look at.

The size and shape of your sunroom are important and will be largely determined by how much space you have and want to use. Another factor that is very significant is the appearance of your sunroom from the exterior of the home.

A sunroom looks lovely from the outside as well as from the inside. It looks even better when the sunroom designs has been carefully considered so that it blends well with the home’s exterior. You want your sunroom to blend in nicely as a feature rather than looking like it was simply stuck on there as an afterthought.

Some keys in making your sunroom a beautiful addition to your home is to be sure that its color and style match your home. If your home has a gabled roof you might opt for a gabled roof on your sunroom. Tinted windows might look nice in some uses but stand out like a sore thumb in others. In some cases a curved roof looks only like a strange greenroom, in others it looks modern and stylish.

Turning to the inside of the room, there are also many things to think about in terms of interior sunroom designs. What type of furniture should you choose? Do you want curtains, blinds or none of the above? What type of flooring is the best?

When answering these questions for yourself, keep in mind that the function of the room is to invite the outside in. There will be plenty of sunshine so you will want light fabrics that will not fade easily. Heavy furniture usually looks out of place in this type of airy environment. You may opt for wicker furniture or another type of light furniture.

For your flooring, usually a stone floor is best for a sunroom. This will absorb the heat of the sun during the day, keeping the place warm. If you want the option to cover your windows for privacy or protection from the sun heavy curtains will not be your best option. Instead look at the types of rolling blinds that are light and natural looking.

Creating a beautiful sunroom is not difficult. By following some basic steps you can have a fitting addition to your home that will enhance its beauty and value.
