Solarium for All Types of Seasons
Many people prefer to use a solarium to keep their skin radiantly glowing all year round. Each solarium produces high-levels of Ultra-Violet Rays to encourage tanning on your skin. House improvements can modify your lifestyle; plus, it increases your house?s value. Constructing a home solarium is a project that you could choose to do by yourself or by hiring a contractor. But first is to know the basic fundamentals in building your home solarium.
Installation Instruction for the Solarium
Things that you' will Need:
Start by considering what kind of activities you will be doing in the solarium room. Some people use it as greenhouse, meeting place, a reading place, home office, or even a diversion room. Activities that you will do determine the design or layout of your solarium room.
Design your solarium in a way that it can be functional. Decide what room size and style to use; like for entertainment purpose or as a personal retreat. Research online for some fashionable designs for solarium kit manufacturers and select a characteristic and quality that can appeal to your likings.
Consider the ability of the spot if it is going to be maximized. Build the solarium windows facing the southern solar spot because this will determine the solar energy during winter and also lowers its utility costs. Only use concrete, stone or brick as the flooring material to upsurge the energy efficiency. Also, these materials can absorb heat coming from the sun to maintain cool effect for the room during daytime.
Evaluating the building materials is a major part because this can be a factor for the room to hold different kinds of temperature. Aluminum and Pressure-treated woods are the materials that are popular in building a four-season solarium room. Use a double glazed window to reduce the glare and for supplying insulation. Just make sure that the materials you will choose meets your building code. Inquire for building permits and building regulations.
Create a list for the overall costs. Evaluate your overhead costs that you could afford on the project. Make some comparisons of prices between hiring a professional licensed contractor and doing it yourself.
Decide if you want to do it all by yourself, because there are many solarium kits available for experienced people in building a sunroom by themselves. Hire a Professional Licensed Contractor if you are in doubt of your abilities to do it on your own. Do not risk high-cost mistakes. Check the builder?s references and find out if he is insured or not. Consider this information, enjoy living with your home sunroom, and use it with some of the preceding tips.
Tips in using a home solarium:
Wear clothing suitable for tanning. Some people wear bathing suits or under garments, and others wear no clothes at all to prevent tan lines to appear in their body. Always apply some tanning lotion to prevent skin burning; and also, applying it can increase the efficiency of the Ultra-Violet Rays for an even-looking tan. Always wear protective goggles because exposure to high-level Ultra-Violet light could cause serious damage to your eyes.
Always set a timer for the room according to the type of your skin. If you are sensitive to sun, 5 minutes is your considered time; and eventually, if your skin is used to it, you can increase it for a maximum of 10 minutes per session. If you are not sensitive to the sun (or sunlight), you can start for 8 minutes; and 12 minutes at the most. If your skin has a high sun tolerance, you can start at 10 minutes and eventually you can work it for up to 15 minutes. The sunroom must be turned off once the implicated time has elapsed. Wipe the tanning bed with proper cleaning solution after every session.
Always limit the tanning sessions once a day. If you use the sunroom today, you should not sunbathe outdoors that day also. Wait for forty eight hours after the tan session before doing it again. This allows enough time to observe if the solarium had caused negative side effects such as rashes and itchiness.
